
As a critically acclaimed music producer and film composer, Frank Fitzpatrick has created the soundtracks for over two-dozen feature films (Scary Movie 3, Queen of the Damned, Friday, In Too Deep, Nuns On the Run) and scores and themes for television series including the renowned Larry Sanders Show. Recent works include his original score and hit single for Disney’s Channel’s top-selling premier and soundtrack Jump In!, orchestral scores for two animated films (Disney’s Proud Family Movie and Revolution’s Lil’ Pimp), and featured songs for the Soul Men, Scary Movie 4, Big Mama’s House II and upcoming Hurricane Season soundtracks. Listed in Variety as one of the “Top Music Supervisors of the Decade”, Fitzpatrick has contributed to the sale of over six million soundtrack albums, including the multi-platinum original Friday.
Fitzpatrick has also written and produced songs for top-selling recording artists including Jill Scott, Van Hunt, Dave Hollister, K-Ci & Jojo, Brownstone, Lina, Carl Anderson, Fat Joe, Ice Cube, Akil (Jurassic 5), Jazz (Dru Hill) and The London Symphony. In addition to his film soundtracks, Frank’s recent releases include Siren: a Classical Crossover duet project for Blue Note/EMI Records (co-produced with Peter Asher), Jump to the Rhythm: the single for Hollywood Record’s teen star Jordan Pruitt and opening song for the High School Musical tour, Angeli: the theme for the Victoria’s Secret TV ad campaign, and Soul Music: the title track for Soul Men featuring Anthony Hamilton.
As an emerging filmmaker, Fitzpatrick specializes in music-driven projects and multiplatform entertainment. His first short film Jungle Jazz: Public Enemy #1, won the prestigious Silver Bear Award at the Berlin Int’l Film Festival, along with top prizes in Brazil, Australia and the US. Fitzpatrick wrote & directed The Rebel Angel - anime-inspired multi-platform shorts featuring the National Orchestra of Venezuela, DJ Spooky, Delirium, Sasha and Grammy winner Andy Vargas (Santana). He is currently developing a full length film on music and healing, featuring musical masters from around the globe.
Fitzpatrick founded EarthTones, an NGO using music and film to raise support for social concerns. Current and recent projects include: Just Like You - A UN-Sponsored peace initiative for broadcast to over 200 million people in the Middle East; Reflections - A BET broadcast AIDS Awareness film directed by Gina Prince-Blythewood and playing in high schools throughout the US; Scenes in Jazz – a multi-disciplinary project supporting music and arts education; and Yoga Revolution – a branded CD and national campaign benefiting underserved youth with health education and fitness programs and featuring: Sara McLachlan, Ziggy Marley, Seal, Anoushka Shankar, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Michael Franti, Angelique Kidjo, Krishna Das and Sheryl Crow.
Prior to his record & film career, Detroit-born Fitzpatrick produced live shows for the likes of Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Ray Charles and Prince, produced jazz and arts educational programs, performed in bands and hosted his own radio show. He holds degrees in Music Composition and Marketing from the University of Michigan
